WATCH: PNP rallies supporters in Clarendon
CLARENDON, Jamaica – The People’s National Party (PNP) bus tour continued in Clarendon on Saturday morning with party president Mark Golding and senior members of his team rallying supporters in the central Jamaica parish for the upcoming general election.
“We are on a mission to rescue Jamaica and we cannot rescue Jamaica unless Clarendon also plays its role in rescuing Jamaica,” Lothan Cousins, Member of Parliament (MP) for Clarendon South Western, said during the first stop in Lionel Town.
Cousins charged that Lionel Town, which is situated in the Clarendon South Eastern constituency represented by Pearnel Charles Jr, has seen “little development over the years” due to poor representation by Jamaica Labour Party MPs.
He said “time come” for constituents to elect a PNP candidate for MP. The party’s representative for Clarendon South Eastern in the upcoming polls is Councillor for the Hayes Division, Scean Barnswell.
The bus tour also had scheduled stops at the Mineral Heights round-a-bout in Clarendon as well as Gutters Square in St Catherine on Saturday.
