Jamaica’s Sara Misir wins E1 Jeddah Grand Prix season opener, earns Pilot of the Day

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia – Jamaica’s Sara Misir opened the 2026 UIM E1 World Championship in emphatic fashion on Saturday, winning the E1 Jeddah Grand Prix in a standout performance on the Red Sea.

Competing for the Aoki Racing Team, Misir delivered a composed and commanding drive under pressure, navigating a challenging race weekend to secure her first Grand Prix victory in the team’s iconic pink livery and setting the tone for the new season.

“Today was incredible, my first win in pink, and I was honoured to bring it home for the Aoki Racing Team,” said Misir. “It was a tough weekend with plenty of challenges, but we stayed focused, kept our heads in the game, and got it done. Huge credit to my co-pilot Dani (Loos) and everyone behind the scenes. Next stop: Lake Como, April 24.”

Misir’s performance earned her the Pilot of the Day honour, recognising her consistency, race intelligence and execution across the finals as she helped secure overall victory for the team.

The win adds another honor to Misir’s resume as she continues to break new ground for Caribbean competitors on the global stage in the world’s premier all-electric powerboat racing series.

The E1 World Championship now moves to Lake Como, Italy, for Round 2 on April 24 and 25, 2026, where Misir and her Aoki Racing Team will look to build on the early championship momentum.
