WATCH: Golding woos security guards, public sector workers
ST THOMAS, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) President Mark Golding says the PNP will remove the tax on overtime pay for security guards and other workers if his party is elected in the September 3 polls.
“I don’t consider any security guards any second-class citizens. In our manifesto, we’re going to remove the overtime pay tax from security guards, as well as all public sector workers. So security guards, you have a reason to vote for the People’s National Party,” Golding said, speaking during the party’s campaign tour of St Thomas on Thursday.
Golding went on to encourage voters to choose the PNP for the sake of their families.
“I’m begging you, don’t sell out yourselves and your future when they come with a whole bag of money that’s going to last for a day or two, and you’re going to have five more years of ‘sufferation’ after that. Don’t be short-sighted. Don’t be selfish,” he said.
“Think about your children and your grandchildren, and put the ‘X’ beside the head,” he added.
