KINGSTON, Jamaica–People’s National Party (PNP) caretaker for St Thomas Western, Hubert Williams, says he is confident that he will defeat the Jamaica Labour Party’s James Robertson for the St Thomas Western seat.

“We’re feeling excellent today. This election is for the PNP because the people of Jamaica recognise that they need the PNP to restore and rebuild Jamaica,” Williams said during an interview with Observer Online at the PNP’s Kingston and St Andrew parish meeting on Saturday night.

When quizzed about why he chose the St Thomas Western constituency, Williams responded: “Well, the strongest would like the hardest fight. And I was born for this. I was ordained for this. I will deliver the people of Western St Thomas from evil. This is my job. This is what I was put on earth to do. And I will deliver”.

Continuing, Williams said, “When the 3rd of September comes, the 1st is my birthday. So the 3rd, I will get my birthday present. And that will be the deliverance of the people of Western St Thomas.”
