Independent candidate to join Trelawny Southern race
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — An independent candidate is set to be nominated Monday morning at the Electoral Office in Albert Town to contest the Trelawny Southern seat in the September 3 general election.
He is Paul Cunningham.
Cunningham’s nomination is scheduled for 11:05 am, following that of the Jamaica Labour Party’s Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert who is expected to be nominated at 10:00 am. The People’s National Party’s Paul Patmore is slated for 12:00 noon.
Returning Officer for Trelawny Southern, Tarbert Golding, disclosed that all arrangements are in place for the day’s activities.
Meanwhile, Commander of the Trelawny Police Division, Superintendent Velonique Campbell, confirmed that members of her team, along with the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), have been deployed and are fully in place at the two returning offices in the parish.
