WATCH: Bunting takes aim at Manchester JLP candidates
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — People’s National Party heavyweight Peter Bunting has criticised the Jamaica Labour Party’s Manchester candidates as he blasted them for remarks made and incidents during the parliamentary election political campaign.
Addressing PNP supporters in Mandeville at the party’s mass meeting, Bunting, who is also the PNP candidate in Manchester Southern, said the JLP has no principle among its hierarchy and its local representatives.
“…Could it be the one who parachuted headfirst into bellyful politics in north east Manchester, distributing scarce benefits and spoils like drum and chicken. Labourites fighting to death at her constituency office. I don’t think so,” he said.
Bunting did not name the JLP’s candidates, but gave hints.
“Or could it be the one in the south who proudly posted on social media, pictures of him moving around surreptitiously at night, issuing at night, issuing fertiliser and God knows what else,” he said.
“The same one who posted himself dancing like a creepy clown in the back of the old bus with people pickney. Can’t be that one,” added Bunting.
He also took a jab at the incumbent for Manchester Central.
“It certainly can’t be the lady who serve one term, took a few pictures issuing a few drums of water and post on social media, patch two potholes and claim that she is the greatest MP (Member of Parliament) in central Manchester history,” said Bunting.
“Until she can build a brand new hospital like John Junor did…Until she can build five brand new schools like Peter Bunting did…Until she can bring employment for thousands like Peter Bunting did…But take time with her, she under pressure. Nuh body nuh waah sit down beside her in Parliament,” he said to cheering supporters.
