WATCH: ‘I had to be here!’
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Rose Parkins, a Jamaican who lives in the United States, is determined to exercise her democratic right to vote on September 3.
Originally from Flankers in St James, she was among the Labourites who showed up early in Sam Sharpe Square, Sunday afternoon, for the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) manifesto launch.
“I came down on Friday and will return after the elections,” she told Observer Online.
Parkins listed the decline in major crimes as one of the reasons she thinks the JLP deserves to be re-elected.
“Crime is down, among other things, and they deserve a third term,” she said.
