St Lucia rattled by two earthquakes days apart
CASTRIES, St Lucia (CMC) – Three days after an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 rattled St Lucia, the island was jolted by a 4.4 tremor on Sunday night, the Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC) has reported.
It said the latest quake occurred at 8.51 pm (local time) and was at a depth of 15 kilometers (km). It was felt 31 km south of Fort-de-France, Martinique and 112 km south, south east of Roseau, the Dominican capital.
The SRC said there are no reports of damage or injuries as a result of the latest quake.
Last Thursday, the island was rattled by an earthquake at a depth of 10 km. The tremor was felt 70 km, east of Kingstown, the capital of St Vincent and the Grenadines and 110 km west of Bridgetown, the Barbados capital.
