WATCH: Four injured in crash at Old Hope Road intersection
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Four people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Old Hope Road and Downer Avenue early Friday morning.
The crash, which occurred around 5:54 am, involved a black Honda CR-V and a Toyota Probox taxi operating on the downtown to Papine route.
Reports are that the taxi was driving up Old Hope Road when the driver of the CR-V, who was travelling in the opposite direction, attempted to turn onto Downer Avenue. The CR-V was unable to complete the turn before the taxi slammed into it.
The impact triggered the deployment of airbags in both vehicles.
Emergency responders transported four injured individuals to the hospital. Their conditions have not yet been confirmed, but there were no reports of fatalities.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
