@glamnelle x Alicia Burke
Make-up by Shenelle “@glamnelle” Gardner on model Alicia BurkeMichael Mcleish & Phillip Groves

@glamnelle x Alicia Burke

Scrolling through Instagram and BeautyTok — the name given to TikTok’s unique beauty community — can sometimes leave you feeling a bit underwhelmed, as millions of similarly made-up faces often meld into one. Every once in a while, however, a look captures the attention and elicits a double tap and a save to collection.

Take, for instance, a recent post by Gabby Glam CEO, make-up artist Gabrielle Waite, in which she tagged fellow MUA Shenelle “@glamnelle” Gardner, as the mastermind behind behind her flawless beat. Of course we headed to her page, and immediately fell in love with her soft and glowy glam aesthetic. Her most recent beat on model Alicia Burke was an instant fave!

Tuesday Style Beauty (TSB) caught up with Gardner between glam appointments to learn more about the staples she always keeps in her kit, along with her fave foundation and secrets to her clients’ butter skin finish.

Tuesday Style Beauty (TSB): How long have you been a make-up artist?

Shenelle Gardner (SB): Nine years. My makeup-versary was May 16!

TSB: Are you professionally trained?

SB: I started doing make-up because of my love for pageantry and participation in pageants. I got professionally trained in May 2016 at Face Forward School of Beauty.

TSB: Do you have a signature make-up look that you’re known for?

SB: In fact, I do. When people see or think of my work it’s all about great skin. The base is really the fundamental part of any make-up look. The skin always looks like skin, soft and glowy, yet mattified in all the right areas. It is always long-lasting and is guaranteed to look better as you wear it.

TSB: What are three staples you always keeps in your kit?

SB: Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm Powder Makeup — Universal and the tinted shades. Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder, and Yardie Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks.

TSB: How and when did you start doing Alicia’s make-up?

SB: I met Alicia on February 16, 2024 at a friend’s birthday party. She needed an artist that could understand her and her vision and bring it to life. We have been inseparable ever since.

TSB: Describe the look you created for her.

SB: This look was for her birthday shoot. She wanted to look soft, clean and elegant while still highlighting her beautiful features. I took her personality and love for make-up to create something that I knew she would love.
