General Elections: Burchell wins in St James Southern

ST JAMES, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) Nekeisha Burchell has won the St James Southern seat in the 2025 General Election, based on preliminary results.

Burchell tallied 6,483 votes while the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) Homer Davis secured 6,276 votes. Jamaica Progressive Party’s Leon Cunningham secured 17 votes.

With the win, Burchell flipped St James Southern for the PNP. In 2020, Davis had won the seat when he defeated PNP’s Walton Small with 57.79 per cent of the votes.
