#OneInAMartin

When registered nurse Sanika Ingram and surgical technician Lemarr Martin first connected on
Facebook, they found more than a common interest; they discovered a shared spiritual foundation that would become the cornerstone of their relationship. From the first message to their I do’s, their love is a beautiful reflection of two souls united by a higher power, blessed on July 7, 2025, at Laughing Waters in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

Happenstance brought them together on January 9, 2016, via Facebook, where curiosity was transformed into a deep connection. “What started as casual chats soon turned into hours of meaningful conversations, shared laughter, and a growing sense that we had found something truly special in one another,” Sanika told Tuesday Style Vows (TSV). Their Christian faith became the cornerstone of their bond, solidifying for Sanika that they were equally yoked.

“I think we both started to realise the mutual attraction when our conversations moved beyond superficial — we’d spend hours talking, praying together, and diving into the Word of God. It wasn’t just about having things in common but about feeling spiritually aligned,” Sanika reflected.

Their first in-person meeting came a year after their initial conversations, bringing a new dimension to their already-deep connection. The moment their eyes met, they knew with absolute certainty, they were destined to be together.

“It wasn’t just chemistry — it was clarity. In that moment, we both realised this wasn’t temporary, this wasn’t casual. This was something we couldn’t walk away from. The connection we had built over time, rooted in trust, respect, and spiritual alignment, only grew stronger in person,” Sanika shared. “That was the moment I knew he was the one — the person I wanted to build a life with.”

During a quiet walk on November 30, 2024, Lemarr proposed to her, confirming the mutual feeling they shared.

“He began speaking from the heart, reflecting on our journey — from late-night talks and praying together to growing a bond built on faith and friendship. Then, with a smile full of emotion, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him,” Sanika reminisced.

“Tears filled my eyes as I said ‘Yes’, overwhelmed with joy and love. In that moment, time seemingly stood still — we knew our forever had begun.”

Months later, Sanika, escorted by her father, Albert Ingram, wowed in a bespoke Ese Azenabor ball gown as she commenced her walk up the aisle, in a setting curated by Tropical Weddings Jamaica, to Giving Myself by Jennifer Hudson. Waiting for her was Lemarr, dapper in a white and black tuxedo, ready to exchange vows under the guidance of Pastor Stenneth Davis.

The reception continued at the same venue with gourmet fare by Junior Francis Catering. Memorable moments included were a poignant father-daughter dance, and a blazing fire dance performance. The newly-weds cut their three-tiered vanilla, coconut and Jamaican fruitcake provided by Tropical Weddings Jamaica before they opened the dance floor, celebrating their union to Beyonce’s Hands II Cater (Wedding Edition). DJ Shem then took over with a high-energy set that invited guests to celebrate the night away.

Sanika and Lemarr honeymooned at Moon Palace Ocho Rios and Princess Senses The Mangrove Resort in Hanover.
