Tokyo 2025: Romaine Beckford leaps into high jump final
Romaine Beckford has qualified for the final of the men’s high jump after clearing 2.25m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday.
It was a difficult series for Beckford, who had finished 10th at the Olympic Games last year, as he needed all his attempts to qualify – jumping 2.16m, 2.21m and 2.25m.
Raymond Richards, the World Indoor bronze medallist who was ranked ninth in the world going into the championships, failed to advance as he only managed 2.16m.
