Tokyo 2025: Pryce into women’s 400m final
TOKYO, Japan — National champion and record holder Nickisha Pryce will be the only Jamaican in what is expected to be a scintillating women’s 400m final at the World Athletics Championships after advancing with a season’s best 49.46 seconds in the semi-finals in Tokyo, Japan.
It was Pryce’s fourth fastest time ever and third fastest of the round as she finished third in her semi-final, behind a phenomenal world-leading and American record 48.29 seconds from Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, while Great Britain’s Amber Anning ran 49.38 seconds and was second.
Dejanae Oakley ran 51.42 seconds for seventh in her semi-final and Stacey-An Williams ran 50.39 seconds for fifth in her semi-final, both failing to advance.
