PROMINENT Jamaican attorney and partner at Hart Muirhead Fatta (HMF) Sanya Goffe has been selected, along with 38 other women across the globe as a member of the 2025–2026 class of the International Women’s Forum (IWF) Leadership Fellows Programme.

“I am honoured to be selected and to represent Jamaica in this global cohort,” Goffe shared following the announcement. “This is an opportunity to expand my skills while learning from extraordinary women leaders across sectors and bring those insights back home. I am especially excited about applying what I learn to strengthen governance, expand financial inclusion, and continue the advocacy work that matters to me, ensuring that more Jamaicans can share in long-term financial security and opportunity.”

Her participation will take place through periodic training sessions across the year, ensuring she remains fully active in her professional commitments in Jamaica.

Goffe’s selection as an IWF fellow marks an important chapter in her over two-decade distinguished career in law. As a partner at HMF, one of Jamaica’s leading law firms with top-tier international rankings, she is highly regarded for her work in corporate, commercial and pensions law.

Beyond her legal practice, Goffe serves as president of the Pension Industry Association of Jamaica, and also sits on the boards of Jamaica Producers Group Limited and NCB Financial Group Limited.

“This fellowship is a chance for me to sharpen the way I approach governance and risk, learning from women leaders who are tackling, or have tackled, similar challenges around the world,” she said.

Goffe’s professional accomplishments to date have earned her wide recognition. She was the 2017 recipient of the International Pension & Employee Benefits Lawyers Association’s Libby Slater Award, a global honour for excellence in pension law; the 2020 Eisenhower Fellowship; the Gleaner Distinguished Service Award for excellence in the field of law in 2022; and the 2024 Tony Thurman Award for the best published legal article in
The International Pensions Lawyer. She also co-founded with her husband the Adult Learning Centres of Jamaica, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving adult literacy in Jamaica.

With her appointment to the IWF Leadership Fellows Programme, Goffe is ready and eager to create an even bigger impact.

“I want to bring back fresh ideas and use them to strengthen financial security and inclusion at home. My hope is that the impact reaches beyond me, touching the lives of people who will feel the benefits of stronger national infrastructure, fairer opportunities, and institutions that truly serve them,” she said.
