BOOTYLICIOUS and Another One, who finished second and third, respectively, behind Fearless Force in their September 7 outing, appear to be strong contenders for the $1.25-million Nigel B Nunes Memorial Cup over five furlongs (1,000m) straight at Caymanas Park this afternoon.

Bootylicious, trained by Peter-John Parsard, was narrowly beaten by a neck over five and a half furlongs (1,100m) while Another One, trained Anthony Nunes, was one and three quarter lengths back in third.

Bootylicious has been looking really sharp, having returned from a nearly four-month layoff, and that recent run should give her an edge for a comfortable win here. Her prep work has been solid too as she blazed 48.3 seconds over four furlongs on September 29.

With her trademark pace and speed Bootylicious is set to be a force, and carrying top weight of 57.0kg (126lb) isn’t likely to hold her back. She’ll be a tough one to beat in Division One of the Overnight Allowance for three-year-olds and up. Champion jockey Raddesh Roman remains in the saddle.

Prince Amaan, Major Danger, Oro Oro and Comehometome are all expected to run decent races.

Another One brings a flawless straight-track record to the table, having won all three of his starts over the straight course. His recent training has been telling too — galloping straight from the gates at five furlongs in 1:01.0, with four furlongs split in 47.1 on September 27, shows he’s got sharp credentials. Plus, he followed that up with a solid 52.2 seconds for four furlongs on September 30, signalling he’s in top spirits. Panamanian Dick Cardenas remains in the saddle.

Bulletproofcoffee, Teflon Don, Allegiance, and Get A Pepsi are expected to fight for the minor placings.
