Case dropped after credit union worker repays $2.6m, but…
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Parish Court Judge Paula Blake Powell on Tuesday discharged former credit union worker Dianne Thompson from a multimillion-dollar larceny case when she appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
Thompson stood accused of stealing $2.6 million from 25 customers of a credit union where she had worked.
On Tuesday, she pleaded not guilty to 22 counts of simple larceny and unauthorised access to computer data.
She was discharged from the case after it was confirmed she had repaid just over $2.7 million to the company.
During the course of the investigation, however, additional monies were discovered missing, pushing the total to over $6 million.

On her last court date, she was urged to repay the full amount before her case management date in October.
However, it is understood that the outstanding sum will now be dealt with in a separate case.
