Citi introduces generative AI tools across departments
KINGSTON, Jamaica, — Citigroup Inc has rolled out four new generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools across its compliance, risk, human resources, and finance functions, the bank announced on Tuesday.
The tools, Citi Stylus, Citi Stylus Workspaces, Citi Assist, and Citi Squad are designed to analyse documents in multiple formats, generate summaries and provide comparisons, according to Citigroup.
Currently, approximately 150,000 Citi employees across 51 jurisdictions have access to the AI tools, with plans for a broader rollout through the remainder of 2025.
“At Citi Jamaica, embracing generative AI is about more than technology—it’s about giving our people the right tools to deliver smarter, faster and safer banking for our clients,” said Citi Country Officer Eva Lewis.
Unlike traditional AI, which follows set rules, generative AI leverages language models and neural networks to create original content based on learned data patterns. Citi said the technology would accelerate response times, improve fraud detection and enable more personalised client services.
Citigroup operates in nearly 160 countries and provides a range of financial services to corporations, governments and institutions.
