Singer and songwriter Denyque will be quick to point out that, although she hasn’t been in the musical spotlight in recent times, her work behind the scenes hasn’t ceased.

In fact, with a bold new single now receiving tremendous support from her ever-growing fan base, the entertainer is confidently declaring a resurgence like never before.

Delivering Who Dem as a powerful and deeply personal track, Denyque is as transparent as she’s ever been, chronicling her struggles with insecurity and the mental fortitude it takes to claw one’s way back from self-doubt.

A mother of two, Denyque told the Jamaica Observer that she has chosen to remain positive even as she grapples with balancing motherhood and her musical career.

“So far, 2025 has been very transcendent. I have been learning a lot and growing a lot. People like to talk about how you balance, I don’t. It’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I am constantly tired. I operate in exhaustion,” she said. “But I do what needs to be done and try as best as possible to centre myself and, of course, I keep my spiritual relationship very dear to my heart. I pray a lot and stay close to God.”

The artiste expressed that as she penned the track Who Dem, the process proved therapeutic, as she regained resilience and confidence. She said she knew then the track was one the world needed.

“I felt like Who Dem was one of those songs that needed to be heard. It’s me being authentically myself, and I think that’s why it has resonated. What I have learned on my journey is that what is for you is not gonna pass you. You might take some detours, and there might be some delays, but I feel sometimes that delays are redirections,” she continued.

The singer revealed that sometimes she gets overwhelmed by thoughts of inadequacy, and expressed that in moments when she feels her career should be far advanced, she prioritises all the blessings she has received along the way, indicating that, although she still has ways to go, she has also come a long way.

“The problem is that we tend to look at how far we have left to go, and that’s where we lose gratitude and the graciousness to realise how far we’ve come, and so I choose to focus on that. I am all about looking at where I am coming from, how much I have accomplished, and… I am grateful for the now, the present,” she stressed.

Who Dem, which was only released on October 3, and the video October 5, is already creating waves. She says she is excited to see what doors the single opens.

Even as she promotes her latest track, Denyque doesn’t plan on slowing down her train any time soon. She reveals that she is also in the process of readying her next studio album, an 11-track project dubbed GO, which translates to go off, a follow-up on her EP, READY, and her mix tape, SET.

“The album is going to be a great body of work. If people remember, I dropped my EP called READY, which translates to ‘Release Everything And Do You, and my mix tape called SET, which was translated to See Everything Transform, and now the album will be called GO for Go Off, and it will be co-produced by me. I am a producer now,” she said confidently. “But shout out to my team, who is also working on it with me, Levels To Life Production. It’s gonna drop on February 13th and I am really excited about it.”
