TAJ announces extension of October GCT filing and payment
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising taxpayers that the due date for filing returns for consumption taxes for the month of September has been extended from October 31 to November 28, 2025.
The taxes include general consumption tax (GCT), special consumption tax (SCT), telephone call tax (TCT), and guest accommodation room tax (GART).
TAJ in a media release on Tuesday said taxpayers will not face penalties for late filing and payment. It said the new deadline has been granted in consideration of persons who may have been affected by Hurricane Melissa, which has impacted the country.
“The consumption tax returns for October 2025 are also due on November 28, 2025. Therefore, taxpayers will file and pay both September and October returns to meet the November 28 deadline. Taxpayers are reminded that filing is mandatory online on TAJ’s website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm,” TAJ noted.
It said payment can also be made via the TAJ’s eServices platform on its website, using a credit card or debit card with credit card features.
Taxpayers are being encouraged to make use of this additional time to ensure that their filings are accurate and complete.
