St Andrew High School for Girls recently celebrated its 100th anniversary with a commemoration service at the school’s Garden Theatre.
The event, which initiated a year-long series of centenary activities, marked 100 years since the school’s founding, with an initial cohort of 21 students. During the service, the governor general of Jamaica proclaimed September 21 as an annual observance to be known as St Andrew High School for Girls Day.
Over the past century, the school’s alumnae have pursued careers in various sectors including civic life, science, entrepreneurship, the arts, and education. The centenary is structured around the theme ‘A Century of Abundance — Honouring the Legacy, Inspiring Our Future’. See the highlights in Business Social.
