Key attractions reopen to the public — UDC
Urban Development Corporation (UDC) has announced that effective today, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, several of its properties will reopen to the public.
These include the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls and Park, Ocho Rios Bay Beach, and Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay.
As part of Jamaica’s ongoing recovery following the passage of Hurricane Melissa, the UDC said it prioritised the restoration of these public spaces to support both residents and tourists.
In the coming weeks, at Harmony Beach Park, which will initially open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, the UDC will offer free Internet connectivity through Starlink, as well as phone charging stations, allowing families and community members to stay connected during this period of national recovery.
The reopening of Dunn’s River Falls and Park and Ocho Rios Bay Beach marks a significant step towards the return of normal operations within Jamaica’s tourism and recreation sectors.
In a release from UDC on Monday, the UDC offered “thanks to the public for its patience and continued support as we carry out recovery works across the island”.
“These re-openings,” the UDC said, “symbolise the corporation’s commitment to national development and the resilience and spirit of the Jamaican people. Together, we are rebuilding, stronger, safer, and better.”
