Bulletproofcoffee to lead home rivals in Division One of Racehorse Aftercare Trophy
Tomorrow at Caymanas Park the second staging of the Racehorse Aftercare Trophy headlines the card. The $1.25-million Overnight Allowance — open to three-year-olds and up, split into two sections — will run over 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight.
The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide previews the nine runners in Division One and their winning chances.
1) COMEHOMETOME: (4 b f by Northern Giant – Heart of Gold) – Has not done anything in her four starts at this level to suggest that she has a winning chance.
2) KING’S CROWN: (4 ch c by Berlino Di Tiger – Dancing Queen) – Has no form to recommend here.
3) STRIKE SMART: (5 b h by Wannabeaplayer – Profile) – Has done well to reach this level. A winning run from Strike Smart here, is not possible.
4) BULLETPROOFCOFFEE (USA): (5 b m byHe Be Fire N Ice – Plan A Surprise) – Finished two lengths in second place behind Get A Pepsi over this distance in a quick 58.3 on October 19.
Bulletproofcoffee has won all four races at this distance and is expected to lead the field.
5) CHOCOMO (USA): (4 b c by Backtalk – Chocolate Chippi) – Dismal in his last three runs.
Chocomo goes well over the straight, and from this convenient mark he should run a much-improved race and challenge for top honours.
6) TEFLON DON: (4 b c by Casual Trick – The Lady Scored) – Made noticeable progress when finishing third by four lengths behind Dothraki and Digital One over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m). Based on that effort, Teflon Don is expected to make a brave did here.
7) UNRULY MO (USA): (3 b c by Outwork – Snakeinthegrass) – Offered nothing in the recent Port Royal Sprint over 6 furlongs where he finished last of eight runners. Down in class here,
Unruly Mo is expected to a better race.
8) MIGHTY GULLY: (3 b f by Buzz Nightmare – Lady Exotic) – Recent winner, but a repeat is unlikely.
9) NORBLAR: (5 b h by Wannabeaplayer – Special Degree) – Has worked really well coming into this race. While Norblar is not expected to win, he should make his presence felt.
