Tracks and Records damaged by fire in Montego Bay
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The building which houses the popular Tracks and Records restaurant on Jimmy Cliff Boulevard in Montego Bay was damaged by fire Saturday morning.
Reports coming forward are that around 1:40 am, fire was observed coming from the building and the Jamaica Fire Brigade was alerted.
Two units from the Montego Bay Fire station responded to the blaze and managed to contain it after two hours of firefighting operation.
Reports are that it was the roof area that was mainly affected by the blaze, but it caved in and fell into the establishment causing extensive damage.
The Fire Brigade is yet to establish a cause of the blaze, but investigations are now ongoing to make a determination.
The estimated cost is about US$1 million.
