Two arrested in connection with cocaine seizure in Tower Isle, St Mary
ST MARY, Jamaica—Two men have been arrested following the seizure of three parcels containing a white powdery substance resembling cocaine during an operation on Tower Isle main road, St Mary, on Friday.
Reports are that detectives assigned to the Firearm and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID), acting on information intercepted and searched two motor vehicles. During the search of a white Toyota Corolla Fielder, the parcels were found behind the front passenger seat on the floor.
The police say nothing illegal was found in the second vehicle; however, over $600,000 was seized after the occupants could not give a reasonable account of the funds.
The vehicles were reportedly transported to the police station for processing, and the two men were taken into custody in relation to the seizure.
Their identities are being withheld pending an investigation.
