Major cable vandalism disrupts Flow services in New Kingston and environs
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Flow internet services for both business and residential users in New Kingston and surrounding communities were disrupted on Tuesday following an incident of cable vandalism in the area.
In a statement on Tuesday, Flow described the damage as extensive and malicious.
The company said technical teams are now working to assess the damage, make repairs and restore connectivity as quickly and safely as possible.
Danielle Savory, senior manager of communications, condemned the incident.
“This deliberate vandalism of our network infrastructure is deeply troubling, especially during the busy Christmas season when reliable connectivity is critical for businesses and households. It also removes vital support from areas still recovering from Hurricane Melissa. We are committed to restoring service as quickly as possible and urge anyone with information to report it to the authorities,” said Savory.
Individuals with any information that could assist investigations into the matter are urged to contact Flow’s helpline 876-922-HELP (4357) or notify law enforcement.
Flow Jamaica is asking for patience and understanding as restoration efforts continue. Further updates will be shared via the media and the company’s official social media channels.
