Section of Spanish Town Road temporarily closed for repairs to sewage line
KINGSTON, Jamaica—The National Works Agency (NWA) says a section of Spanish Town Road in the vicinity of the Sandy Gully Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic over the course of the next two evenings.
The agency in a media release on Tuesday, said the closure, which will be between the hours of 9:00 pm and 5:00 am, will commence Tuesday evening, December 16.
It said the roadway will be closed to facilitate repairs to a leaking sewerage line which had contributed to traffic congestion, and will be fully reopened at 5:00 am on Thursday, December 18.
Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency (NWA), Stephen Shaw said that resulting from the works westbound traffic, heading towards Six Miles, will be rerouted onto the eastern carriageway.
The road that takes traffic towards Three Miles will therefore accommodate both eastbound and westbound traffic for the duration of the work.
During the period of work, motorists should proceed with caution and obey the instructions of posted warning signs.
