Chronic Law rules YouTube… again
Kartel, Skippa round out top 3 on year-end chart
For the second-consecutive year, dancehall front-runner Chronic Law is sitting comfortably atop the YouTube throne after racking up more than 150 million views in 2025.
According to the platform, still considered the #1 streaming site for many Jamaicans, Chronic Law reigns supreme, as statistics show his numbers almost doubling those of Vybz Kartel, who holds the #2 spot on the chart for another year.
For the period December 28, 2024, to December 28, 2025, the “Law Boss” amassed a total of 154 million views to Vybz Kartel’s 85.7 million. Coming in at #3 was fast-rising star Skippa with 79.9 million views.
Masicka (74.5 million views) and Squash (64.1 million views) rounded out the top 5.
Alkaline, Jamal, Malie Donn, Popcaan, and producer DJ Mac made it to the chart’s top 10.
For the second year, the list, which ended with 15 of the site’s highest-viewed artistes, did not include any female dancehall artistes.
In the breakdown, which can be accessed via charts.youtube.com, Kingston, Jamaica; New York, USA; Port of Spain, Trinidad; and London, England, were places where Chronic Law had the biggest viewership.
New York Girls, Empty, Higher Life (collab with Kranium), Kick It Wid Myself (collab with Popcaan) and Don’t Fall were his most-streamed tracks.
For Vybz Kartel, his largest audiences were based in Nairobi, Kenya; Paris, France; and Accra, Ghana. The Worl’ Boss’s top songs for 2025, according to the data, were: God is the Greatest, Ignite the World, Fever, Unstoppable, and Whine to the Top.
Rising star Skippa, who earned the #3 spot on the chart, had a large local viewership with his biggest audiences based in Kingston, Spanish Town, and Montego Bay. His hottest songs for 2025 included Hugo, WYFL, Go, JR GONG, and Lesson.
While Chronic Law, Kartel, and Skippa may have dominated overall listenership on the platform, none of them had the most listened to solo songs of the year according to the data. YouTube’s statistics show that Shake It To The Max remix, featuring Shenseea and Skillibeng, continues to dominate that chart. Since premiering in March 2025, the track has garnered almost 220 billion views. Beloved and Blessed by Jaame.sss featuring Inner Circle’s Skatta Lopa came in as #2 most listened to track for 2025, while Armanii’s 8:00 PM rounded out the top three.
Jamal’s Ballandor and Masicka’s Rich Sex rounded out the top five.
Like the individual artiste’s list, the top songs of the year line-up did not include any solo tracks from a female dancehall artiste.
