Turbulence says Let Love Rain
“In every cloud there is a silver lining,” goes the age-old adage. Turbulence saw proof of that in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, which left a trail of destruction and sorrow in Jamaica.
Let Love Rain, his latest song, was inspired by the Category 5 storm, which hit the country on October 28, leaving 45 people dead and thousands homeless.
Turbulence, who was in The Bahamas when Melissa struck Jamaica, is moved by the camaraderie throughout the country.
“Before Melissa, neighbour used to hype pon neighbour, an’ now wi see neighbours working together to build and rebuild. I think without Melissa wi should have already had that an’ bring back di community to raise di child,” he said in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.
Let Love Rain is produced by RhomeDaDon.
Turbulence pointed to the producer’s “heartfelt rhythm” and unifying post-Melissa scenes for making the song’s lyrics flow.
Since returning from The Bahamas he has visited several areas damaged by the hurricane.
“We got care packages together an’ we went down to St Elizabeth, Westmoreland, an’ Hanover an’ did our part, an’ continue to do our part,” said Turbulence.
Those parishes felt the brunt of Hurricane Melissa’s 185-mile-per-hour winds, which also caused considerable destruction in St James and Trelawny.
