‘I didn’t kill Donna-Lee’: Maitland tells jury he ‘would never hurt’ his girlfriend
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Constable Noel Maitland told a seven-member jury a short while ago that he would never hurt his girlfriend Donna-Lee Donaldson, much less to kill her.
“I would never hurt my girlfriend. I didn’t kill Donna-Lee,” Maitland said as he pointed out to the jury that he cooperated with the police throughout the entire investigation into the murder matter.
He said he cooperated at all times, even when others refused.
He also said that the prosecution failed to establish that the tiny spatter of blood found in his apartment could have been there a year ago.
Maitland is on trial for murder and preventing the lawful burial of a corpse in relation to the July 12, 2022 disappearance of his 24-year-old social media influencer girlfriend, Donna-Lee Donaldson.
Donaldson was last seen at the Chelsea Manor apartment complex in St Andrew, where Maitland lived.
