Leslie Harrow named chairman of new SDF board
Leslie Harrow has been appointed chairman of the Sports Development Foundation (SDF) by the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.
Portfolio Minister Olivia Grange made the announcement on Wednesday as she revealed the new SDF board members.
Leslie brings a wealth of experience to the role. He acted as general manager at SDF, was the executive director of the Institute of Jamaica, and also served as the director general of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management.
Grange revealed that the Cabinet has approved her recommendations for a new board of directors for SDF, and that all board members have signed and returned their appointment letters.
“The new Board will focus on safeguarding and strengthening the SDF’s technical capacity, ensuring a full staff complement, improving organisational efficiency and increasing the organisation’s visibility,” said Grange on her Facebook page.
Harrow replaces Lelsie Campbell and will be joined on the SDF board by Newton Amos, former chairman of the Institute of Sport.

The Sports Development Foundation, which commenced operations in 1995, was established as an independent body to contribute to the development of the nation through sports.
