Man accused of urinating in front of cops freed
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man accused of indecent exposure had his case withdrawn when he appeared before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, after the court was told the matter was not within its jurisdiction.
Kemo Ellis was before the court to answer to allegations that he exposed himself in public. The court heard that upon seeing police personnel, Ellis removed his private part and proceeded to urinate.
Presiding Judge Alwayne Smith described the matter as offensive and disrespectful.
“First of all, the allegation is disgusting on several levels… one, the act of urination; two, the exposure of your penis; and three, doing so while seeing a law enforcement officer approaching you,” Judge Smith said.
“It is not only disgusting, it is offensive and disrespectful to law enforcement,” he added.
The matter was withdrawn after it was determined that the case was not within the court’s jurisdiction.
