Police identify men killed in Trelawny crash
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Police have identified the two men who died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision on a section of the North Coast Highway in Trelawny Sunday morning.
The deceased are 50-year-old Donovan Robinson of Lyndhurst Crescent, Kingston 5, and Lloyd Buchanan, also of a Kingston address.
Reports indicate that about 7:10 am, the driver of a grey Toyota Corolla was travelling towards Falmouth when, upon reaching a section of the Carey Park main road, the vehicle collided with a blue Nissan X-Trail travelling in the opposite direction.
As a result of the impact, the female driver of the Nissan X-Trail sustained injuries and was taken to the Falmouth Public General Hospital for treatment. The driver and passenger of the Toyota Corolla suffered serious injuries and were also transported to the Falmouth hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The Trelawny police are continuing investigations into the crash.
Police statistics show that 25 road fatalities have been recorded across the island since the start of the year, four fewer than the 29 deaths reported during the corresponding period last year.
