Flash Motors becomes first electric vehicle-only dealership in Jamaica’s auto association
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Flash Motors Company Limited has joined the Automobile Dealers Association of Jamaica (ADA) as its first exclusively electric vehicle (EV) dealership, the association said on Tuesday.
The membership marks a shift in Jamaica’s automotive sector, reflecting the growing integration of electric mobility into the mainstream market.
“Flash is proud to be a member of the ADA, and we welcome the association’s support as we continue to advance electric mobility in Jamaica and the wider region,” said Xavier Gordon, chief executive of Flash Motors.
Jackie Stewart-Lechler, chairman of the ADA, said the association welcomed Flash Motors and applauded its introduction of new electric mobility options to Jamaican consumers.
Flash Motors, operational since 2021, has focused on EV sales, charging infrastructure and policy development in Jamaica and several other Caribbean markets, including St Lucia and Guyana.
The company now operates from a showroom in New Kingston, offering sales, charging solutions and owner education.
“Vehicle sales are only our baseline. We provide customers with their own charging infrastructure and believe in continuous owner education,” said Sales Manager Phillip Oliver. He added that the company sends technicians abroad for training to ensure maintenance meets global standards.
The dealership’s admission into the ADA aligns its operations with the association’s framework on accountability, transparency and consumer protection, signalling an industry step toward formalising EV retail standards.
