Race intensifies for rural U-14 football quarter-final places
TEN schools will be seeking back-to-back wins in today’s second set of the ISSA rural area Burger King Under-14 second-round football games as the race for places in the quarter-finals heats up.
Also to be contested are two fixtures that will see teams which won their opening games facing off for the lead in both groups.
Munro College and Manchester High are to meet in a Group 4 game that could decide the winners, while Belair High and St Elizabeth Technical are to clash in Group 3.
Defending champions Glenmuir High, who are away to McGrath High, are among schools seeking their second-straight wins. The others are Cornwall College, who are away to Grange Hill High; Dinthill Technical, who travel to Garvey Maceo High; and Anchovy High, who are to battle William Knibb Memorial.
In other encounters, St Thomas Technical are to host York Castle High, and Titchfield High are slated to face home team Ocho Rios High.
In the Mighty Malt Under-16 competiton, Rusea’s High will go after back-to-back wins when they play away to William Knibb Memorial.
On Tuesday, 14 under-16 games are scheduled to be contested. One of the highlights will see defending champions Manning’s School hosting Cornwall College, who have a perfect win record and are yet to concede a goal.
