Kingston higgler charged for alleged theft of rental vehicle
KINGSTON, Jamaica—A Kingston higgler has been charged with larceny of a motor vehicle after he reportedly failed to return the vehicle he rented from a woman in December 2025.
He has been identified as 35-year-old Travis Wilson of a Patrick City address in Kingston 20.
According to reports from the Half-Way-Tree police, Wilson rented a Honda Stream motorcar from the woman. At the end of the agreed rental period, he reportedly contacted her to request an extension for a few additional days, and she consented.
However, Wilson allegedly failed to return the vehicle within the stipulated time and did not make payment for the additional days for which he kept it. The woman reported the matter to the police after numerous failed attempts to contact Wilson by phone.
The vehicle was intercepted and seized by lawmen in Portland on Tuesday, February 17.
Wilson, the driver, was taken into custody and was subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
A court date is currently being arranged for him.
