Nolan to start for U20 Boyz vs St Kitts, Grant returns to lineup
Goalkeeper and captain Joshua Grant and 16-year-old sensation Jahmarie Nolan are among eight changes to the starting lineup for Jamaica as they face St Kitts-Nevis in their Concacaf Under-20 Qualifiers Round 1 Group B game at Stadion Rignaal ‘Jean’ Francisca in Willemstad, Curacao on Sunday.
The young Reggae Boyz are seeking a fourth straight win after beating Bonaire, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Cayman Islands.
They will face Puerto Rico in their final game on Tuesday, with only the winner of the group advancing to the next round of qualifying.
Grant, who plays for FC Naples, sat out Friday’s 9-0 win while second string Johnoi Steadman minded the nets, and Nolan came off the bench midway the second half to bag a hattrick.
Also returning to the starting team are Cai McLean, Owen Jumpp, Jabarie Howell, Raequan Campbell-Dennis, Brandon Bent and Claver Nugent.
St Kitts-Nevis are in third place in the group on four points, winning one, losing one and drawing the other game played, scoring five goals and conceding three in the process. They beat Cayman Islands 3-0, drew 1-1 against Bonaire and lost 2-1 to Puerto Rico.
Starting team-
Joshua Grant (gk), Marlon Van De Wetering, Earl Dennis, Cai McLean, Owen Jumpp, Jahmarie Nolan, Jabarie Howell, Sean Leighton, Raequan Campbell-dennis, Brandon Bent, Claver Nugent.
