JPS fixes faulty transformer after Tell Claudienne inquiry
Dear Claudienne,
I live in St Catherine. On Sunday, February 1, 2026, a car accident on St John’s Road Spanish Town, near the Ebonyvale housing scheme, damaged a JPS light pole and resulted in a power outage in the area.
Although electricity in the Fairview housing scheme was restored within a relatively short time, there was no light on the road where my house is located.
There was no light because the JPS transformer that is located on the road was damaged and needs to be fixed. It went bad and was reported to JPS from the time of the Beryl hurricane.
However, despite numerous complaints to the JPS the transformer has not been fixed or replaced.
I would appreciate your help.
