Travel agency CEO admonished and discharged after repaying $150,000
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The owner of a local travel agency, who was charged with fleecing $150,000 from her client, was admonished and discharged following full restitution when she appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.
Allegations are that Tracy Ann Anderson Hoo, chief executive officer (CEO) of Hoo Travel Service, was contacted by the complainant to secure hotel accommodation. The complainant reportedly paid Hoo $150,000 between August and December 2024 to secure the accommodation.
Hoo allegedly told the complainant that the reservation had been made but was later cancelled. She reportedly failed to return the money and is said to have used it for her own benefit.
She was subsequently charged with fraudulent conversion.
Hoo, who was in police custody on Tuesday, made full restitution to the complainant.
She was later admonished and discharged after the Crown offered no evidence against her.
