#Champs2026: JC’s Edwards ends Champs career in style with jumps double
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica College’s Michael-Andre Edwards ended his ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletic Championships career in style with a big personal best of 16.25m (-0.6m/s) to win the Boys Class 1 triple jump at the national stadium.
The win means he has retained his jumps double.
Edwards, who retained his long jump title on Wednesday, dominated the event after fouling his opening jump. He saved the best for last; bettering the 15.95m he had set at the Penn Relays in 2025. His jump is also the second best for Under-20 boys in the world.
Kingston College’s Amani Phillips was second with 15.34m, while Antonio Anderson of Calabar High made a massive move from eighth to third place with a big 15.21m in the final round.
