Fashion Radar: Resortwear by Eroleen

Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF) is at Resortwear by Eroleen boutique for this week’s spotlight on retailers. Under the fashion radar is principal Eroleen Anderson-Powell.

A Legacy of Style:

Eroleen Anderson-Powell’s entry into the fashion world in 2021 wasn’t a sudden arrival, but a natural evolution of a life lived in high-definition style. As the daughter of a legendary Jamaican fashion curator, Anderson-Powell was “born into” the industry, inheriting an innate sense of quality and design. She spent over 30 years refining this heritage, building a formidable reputation in business development, property management, and as the CEO of Interiors by Eroleen Limited.

The Foundation: Designing The Rock

Long before the boutique, Anderson-Powell was shaping the aesthetic landscape of Jamaica. Known for her signature white palette, her interior design work was celebrated for its ability to transport clients into Mediterranean and Caribbean-inspired sanctuaries. This period established her core philosophy: Functional practicality meets high-concept whimsy, a DNA that would eventually define her retail space.

The Strategic Pivot: 2020–2021

When the global lockdown halted life as we knew it, Anderson-Powell displayed remarkable business agility. She pivoted her manufacturing capabilities to produce high-quality PPE garments and face shields.

To meet not just staff needs while in the homes of her clients but the wider population: Retailing through pharmacies, designing for banks, insurance companies and a variety of corporate entities. Exporting to the USA, Canada and the Caribbean. This wasn’t just a community service, it was the operational bridge that allowed her to master garment production, setting the stage for her own fashion label, EA.

Capturing the “Revenge Travel” Wave

As borders reopened in June 2021, Anderson-Powell identified a psychological shift in the consumer: the era of “Revenge Travel”. Whether jetting off to global destinations or exploring the hidden gems of Jamaica through local staycations, people were ready to be seen again.

Bright colours, dopamine fashion maximalism in style. She identified a critical gap in the market for a “one-stop shop” that offered curated, high-end resort style pieces and tropical-inspired looks that were lightweight. Ready to see and be seen, specifically for this new wave of movement.

The Pillars of the Brand: Inclusivity, effortless comfort, whimsy, and intention and confidence.

Resortwear by Eroleen was built to disrupt “common” fashion through two distinct lenses:

• Radical Inclusivity: Recognising a void in the luxury market, she ensured her collections catered to all, ranging from XS to 5XL (Sizes 2 to 22).

• Curated Whimsy: Her boutique is a haven for “the unusual”— From shoes with mismatched geometric heels to hand-beaded vests and dramatic black-tie gowns.

The Immersive Experience

Her flagship boutique at 24-28 Barbican Rd, Kingston 6, Progressive Shopping Centre, is more than a store; it is a nautical masterpiece. Reflecting her interior design roots, the space features coral-reef chandeliers and waterfall displays, creating a high-fashion haven for the woman who isn’t afraid to be unusual.

What has kept you in the industry?

What has kept us in the industry is a relentless obsession with how a woman feels the moment she steps into the sun. At Resortwear by Eroleen, we aren’t simply designing garments — we’re capturing a state of mind: Escape, ease, and effortless elegance. Our longevity is rooted in our commitment to ‘slow luxury,’ an intentional focus on impeccable craftsmanship over the noise of fast fashion.

Our clients understand that a Resortwear by Eroleen piece isn’t just for a season; it’s an investment in their wardrobe for years to come.

How have you maintained relevance?

Relevance, for us, is about evolution without losing identity. While trends shift, a woman’s desire to feel confident and at ease remains constant. We design with that busy and intentional woman in mind, creating pieces with modern refinement that allow a woman to move seamlessly from travel into her everyday life.

From stepping on a beach, attending a wedding, walking into a boardroom, or simply enjoying an evening, no matter the type of occasion.

In a world saturated with noise, we offer a return to how clothing should feel: Effortless, intentional, and timeless.

How have you revitalised the brand and garnered additional support?

We’ve revitalised the brand by refining our visual language and elevating our storytelling. By embracing digital platforms to speak directly to the modern woman, we’ve moved beyond transactions to true alignment. Using #Spotted to celebrate and empower the variety of women we serve and the depth and colourfulness of their journeys or careers. When a brand communicates with such clarity, women don’t just buy into it they embody the lifestyle we represent: a community built on confidence and effortless luxury.

What can customers look forward to from Resortwear by Eroleen over the next couple of months?

In the coming months, our community of women can look forward to a series of curated capsule collections designed for the woman of purpose, regardless of her destination. Expect elevated, runway-inspired silhouettes and elegant footwear each piece designed to move beautifully and maintain a polished presence. Our focus remains on versatility and ease, the staples of a sophisticated wardrobe.

What are a few season must-haves?

At Resortwear by Eroleen, we see colour not as a trend but as emotion, energy, and expression.

This season begins with a neutral foundation, soft whites like Cloud Dancer and warm tones like Cashew Milk creating a blank canvas for the modern woman who moves with clarity and ease.

Then comes the shift: Vibrant expressions of Electric Fuchsia, Canary Yellow, and Candy Apple Red for moments when confidence is not whispered, but worn.

Grounded in nature, tones of Transformative Teal and Pale Pistachio bring balance, while Powder Pink and Blue Aura soften the narrative with quiet elegance.

And for depth: The warm, earthy hues like Amber Haze and Burnt Sienna are a reminder that luxury is felt, not forced.

Styling in 2026 is fearless yet refined:

• Unexpected pairings: Lavender with raspberry, red with purple.

• Monochromatic dressing: head-to-toe statements in bold tones. Like emerald green, lemon zest, teal, and electric/cobalt blue.

• Or subtle accents: for the woman who speaks softly, yet stands out. Utilising soft and saturated mauve tones and soft creamy whites.

We remind our clients true style is not about following colour, it’s about owning how it makes you feel.

Style trends:

Sculpted denim & wide-leg pants

Maximalist accessories with dopamine styling

Structured blazers & power suits: ‘80s-inspired power dressing, with dramatic, structured shoulders and bold styling.

Modern Prints: Polka dots (ranging from micro to oversized) and unexpected checks, including windowpane and gingham.

Scarves worn around the neck and waist

Peplum tops

Long pleated skirts: Feminine, flowy skirts designed to elongate the body.

Pee-toe pumps and architectural style heels

Exaggerated collars and bows from the neck to the waist.
