Flow engages, uplifts and invests in women and girls
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Telecommunications provider Flow recently donated $250,000 to the HerFlow Foundation, an organisation that champions menstrual health education and advocates for an end to period poverty.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, HerFlow Foundation founder Shelly-Ann Weeks noted that sponsors like Flow have helped distribute more than 15 million menstrual products to Jamaican women and girls.
“Menstrual products are essential, and they are really basic necessities, especially during crises, and we saw that after Hurricane Melissa,” said Weeks.
“Flow’s donation helps us continue our mission to promote a dignified existence for our women and girls. Access to menstrual products, education, and supportive spaces ensures that they can live, learn, and lead without limitations,” she added.
In addition, the Flow Foundation partnered with the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation to host a mentoring session designed to support teen mothers. The interactive session provided guidance on social media usage, career planning, and personal development in a safe and empowering environment.
For many participants, the experience offered not only practical knowledge but renewed motivation and confidence as they work toward building their futures.
Novlette Howell, executive director of the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation, emphasised the importance of collaboration in creating lasting impact.
“Partnerships like these are essential to building a stronger, more compassionate society. When we work together, we can reach further, support more young women, and create opportunities that can truly transform lives. The Flow Foundation’s commitment strengthens our ability to continue this important work for the benefit of our girls,” Howell said.
Danielle Savory, Flow’s senior manager, communications, added: “Through these partnerships, we wanted to create opportunities where women and girls feel seen, supported, and equipped to move forward with confidence. It’s about giving them access to guidance, people, and resources that can positively shape their future and that is at the heart of our ethos as an organisation.”
