Second suspect charged for sanitation worker’s murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A second man has been charged in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Sequan Grant, a sanitation worker of Ponsetta Avenue, Kingston 11, on November 15, 2025, at the intersection of Balmagie and Bishop Avenue, Kingston.
He has been identified as 20–year-old Dominic Shaw of Drumely Avenue, Kingston 20, who has been charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Reports from the Hunts Bay police indicate that about 6:00 am, the police responded to reports that a body was seen on a section of the roadway.
On their arrival, the body of Grant was seen partially burnt with gunshot wounds to the head and body. The scene was processed, and the body was removed to the hospital, where death was confirmed.
An investigation was launched, and 29-year-old Shaquille Pellington, otherwise called ‘Biggs,’ of Penwood Avenue, Kingston 11, was arrested and later charged on Tuesday, January 13.
Further investigations led to Shaw’s arrest on Friday, March 27.
He was subsequently charged on Tuesday, March 31.
A court date for Shaw is being finalised.
