WATCH: Woman dead, man injured in Spur Tree Hill crash
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A woman is feared dead and a man is battling for his life at hospital after the heavy unit they were travelling in went over a precipice off Spur Tree Hill in Manchester on Tuesday morning.
Residents say the crash happened shortly after 5:00 am. The crash involved a tractor trailer laden with cement.
The two occupants of the vehicle were flung from the unit during the crash as the unit overturned several times.
Firefighters from the Mandeville Fire Station responded to the scene.
The injured people were removed from the scene and transported to hospital where the woman was pronounced dead on arrival and the man admitted for treatment.
The crash has resulted in a broken utility pole and downed wires reducing the roadway to single lane access.
