Marcue reintroduces collabs with Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Kent Jones
A rising talent, Marcue has already collaborated with big names in music both locally and overseas.
Hailing from Duhaney Park in St Andrew, Marcue counts himself fortunate to have worked with reggae icon Buju Banton, dancehall heavyweight Vybz Kartel, and US-based rapper Kent Jones.
His track, My Favorite Song, originally featured Buju Banton in 2015, and returned in 2022 as a remix with Vybz Kartel and Kent Jones. Both the original and the remix were produced by Mark Stone Cold Hudson. At the time, unforeseen circumstances forced Marcue to pause his music career, delaying the project’s full impact.
“It was an honour to share a record with some of the greatest artistes Jamaica has ever produced. Kent Jones is also a big deal, having been signed to DJ Khaled and scoring a breakout hit,” Marcue said.
Now back, he is reintroducing the project primarily due to fans demand and the rare nature of such collaborations for an emerging artiste.
“Even though my new single, Just Can’t Let Go, is my main focus, it feels right to bring these songs back,” he added.
Reflecting on the delay, Marcue noted, “Good music is timeless, and you don’t get a collaboration with Buju Banton every day. Sharing it again is something special.”
