She walked in saying, ‘I’m not a science person’. She walked out with a product, a brand, and a price tag. Brightstar Lottery Jamaica General Manager Debbie Green (left) works alongside Sharekel Walker of the Trench Town Community Development Committee — Brightstar’s newest After School Advantage Centre — at the Made by Her workshop held recently at the Summit in Kingston. Walker was one of 27 young women who spent the day learning soap production, branding, and pricing. The science was the hook. The business fundamentals were the point. The belief that both belonged to her, that was Brightstar’s contribution.
