Berger Paints Jamaica drives Hunt’s Bay Police Station facelift
BERGER Paints Jamaica continues to demonstrate its commitment to nation-building and community development through projects that enhance the spaces Jamaicans depend on every day.
Among its recent initiatives, the company supported the transformation of the Hunt’s Bay Police Station, reinforcing its mission of adding colour, protection, and value to communities across the island.
Earlier this year, Berger donated paint and coating supplies to facilitate a comprehensive facelift of the Hunt’s Bay Police Station.
Now completed, the project has significantly improved the appearance of the facility, creating a cleaner, more welcoming, and professional environment for both police personnel and members of the public.
The upgraded station stands as a visible investment in community infrastructure and reflects the importance of maintaining public spaces that serve residents daily.
The police station’s enhancement forms part of Berger’s broader programme of community beautification and restoration initiatives, undertaken in partnership with civic groups, educational institutions, and government agencies.
Through these collaborations, the company continues to contribute to the revitalisation of key public facilities and shared community spaces.
“For many years, Berger Paints Jamaica has been a steadfast and valued partner of the St Andrew South Police Division,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Damion Manderson, commanding officer of the St Andrew South Police Division.
“We would like to extend sincere gratitude to Berger for their continued support and investment in creating cleaner, more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environments. This contribution not only enhances the physical appearance of our facilities, but also supports our ongoing commitment to excellence,” added Manderson.
Among the projects supported was the refurbishment of the Black River Post Office in St Elizabeth, where Berger contributed paint products to assist in restoring and refreshing the facility for staff and customers alike.
The company also partnered on a community improvement project in Clarendon South Eastern, helping to enhance the appearance and functionality of key public spaces serving residents in the parish.
Education remains a critical pillar of Berger’s community engagement efforts. Through its support of the beautification of St Jude’s Primary School, the company contributed to creating a brighter, more welcoming environment for students, teachers, and administrators.
Veronica Taylor-Smellie, president of the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston, expressed appreciation for Berger’s contribution to the project.
“We are extremely grateful to Berger for partnering with us on the St Jude’s Primary School beautification project. Through Berger’s generous donation of paint, we were able to refurbish planter boxes, refresh the school’s bathrooms, and brighten walls throughout the compound.
“While the day’s activities also included planting flowers, Berger’s support played a critical role in transforming the space and creating a more welcoming environment for students and staff. We thank Berger for its support and look forward to continuing this valued partnership,” added Taylor-Smellie.
Speaking on the company’s ongoing community investment efforts, Dwaine Williams, general manager of Berger Paints Jamaica, said, “At Berger, we believe our role extends beyond providing quality paint products. We are committed to supporting initiatives that improve the spaces that matter most to Jamaicans, whether they are schools, community facilities, government institutions, or public service buildings. Through these partnerships, we are helping to create environments that inspire pride, encourage engagement, and contribute to stronger communities.”
According to Williams, the projects form part of the organisation’s wider corporate social responsibility programme, which seeks to support sustainable community development while fostering partnerships that deliver lasting value across Jamaica.
