tune in to the TATLER for the talk of the town
The parties have begun!
I’m feeling somewhat dizzy! Wasn’t it just the other day that we started thinking about the true millenium-
The days, the weeks are just flying……..The parties
have begun and the celebs are jetting in.
Joan Collins is on the rock let’s hope someone told OK magazine. Someone however, definitely told Miss Collins where to enjoy seafood as she, like Tiger Woods earlier this year, found the seafood at Marguerite’s Montego Bay certainly worth a long pause in a busy schedule. Lennox Lewis also rolled in and had so much fun or was it Appleton that he took over the mike at Margueritavile in Negril. Over at Hedonism 111 Justine Trudeau, that well-mannered son of the suave Pierre Trudeau was enjoying the Jamaican vibes. Such excitement and the official winter season has not yet begun.
In Kingston the rains certainly cooled the place down somewhat and we finally felt some of that cool Christmas breeze we’ve all been longing for.
Regrettably, the breeze has not cooled down a particular exec or should we say SEXEC who insists on fondling, pinching and pushing his awful body on staff members. Now in the spirit of Christmas, please desist. Let’s just say that your wife would take to bed not to mention many of my readers. This is really your last chance. Ease up on the Viagra!
Talking about that now very popular aphrodisaic, the gentleman is recuperating nicely thank you very much, but young Thang has moved on to firmer pastures shall we say.
Who’s the occupant of Le Chateau Bleu is the question many are suddenly asking. Cannot imagine why since he’s been there for some time now.
PR or no PR, the well-paid banker eating in the staff canteen and making small talk with his employees seems to be mending fences. The question is when will he take a pay cut-.
She is now comfortable in the great house and if truth be told still loved by all. It’s called a civilised separation. Scholar Washington girlfriend in the interim has been busy jetting to and fro. Talk is that Italy was very nice thank you very much. Could she be the next First Lady in waiting-
Many are jetting out of Jamaica this festive season. Why- It’s cheaper to do Christmas abroad, let someone else do the entertaining for a change.
The new buzz around town is about the hot new diplomatic couple. They’re down to earth, ooze class, speak some three languages (or more a piece) and the husband has an amazing sense of humour. We welcome Hillcrest Avenue’s new French Ambasador Pierre-Antoine Berniard and his wife Luisa Berniard. Now we can truly call our diplomatic community a glittering set. Of course we have our favourites and to these we certainly add the French.
Sophia Max Brown that charming entrepreneur who certainly changed the way men looked (thank you Sophia!) is going one step further. The Versace label is now officially in Jamaica at her new Mall location.
More good news…had some really great service at the Captain’s Bakery May Pen. The staff actually smiled and seemed genuinely happy to have a job; and the supervisor came out to assist with our order. The great service continued when we went next door to Burger King. It’s called good management. And with a stop this week at my bank Scotia New Kingston the city’s best general manager and his team were under some serious pressure.
People everywhere. Sir Chisholm was on the floor, leading from the front. I’m certain however, that this branch will all be given by Bill Clarke a Spa day/week at Strawberry Hill at the end of the season. It’s well deserved.
Great Christmas stocks are arriving so there goes my money.
Have a great week.
A Bientot!
PS Shaggy- yes, him same one, will be at Cinema 2 come Christmas Eve. Solomon Sharpe is the man behind this big one so you know it’s going to be a blast.
PPS The lady has certainly found her groove and is putting together a Tommy Ford-Gucci type bash for some 300 specially invited guests this weekend. It certainly is expected to be the party of the year.
Hot off the Press!
Tatler’s all-time favourite, Tony Morrison seemed to have finally settled his score with CVM Television. Will the settlement be a sizeable one— He is now at North Street, albeit without a byline.
