Power women enjoy ‘high tea’
The “Power Women” were drawn from corporate Jamaica, government and quasi-government organisations, the media and the theatre.
They were called upon, during November, to test some items from the “Indulgence” and “Revival” lines in the Nutri Therapy health and beauty products that are available from Safeway. And on last Thursday, a representative number of them met for “High Tea” with executives of Nico Distributors – Caribbean distributors of UK-based Safeway products – to share their experiences with the products.
They included Camella Rhone, executive director of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Technology; Sandra Glasgow of UTECH’s Entrepreneurial Centre; Fae Ellington, of theatre and media fame; Michelle Baboolal of the Jamaica Computer Society Education Foundation, and Carol Francis of TVJ.
The women were told that the tea was part of Nutri Therapy’s continuing effort to make them “as stress-free as possible” as they prepared for the rush and bustle of the Christmas Season. And they did come to relax over a cup of tea and other culinary delights prepared in the cuisine-perfect kitchens of the Terra Nova Hotel and Restaurant. But being the power women that they are, they came not only to share their experiences in using the products, but to offer suggestions on how the products – which they all agreed were “very effective” – could be marketed.
Nico’s managing director, Robert Joseph welcomed their comments – emphasizing that the push towards the use of natural products as part of the overall concept of a healthy lifestyle could no longer be regarded as a “fad”, and that Safeway’s Nutri Therapy products were intended to be outstanding additions in the area.
Safeway’s Nutri Therapy line is described as “a contemporary approach to the development of a range of products that use Safeway’s nutrient know-how, a combination of fruit, vegetable and herb ingredients to bring Safeway customers optimum `Nutri-therapeutic’ benefits”. This in response to the realisation – proven by scientists – that materials of botanical origin such as vegetables, fruits and herbs contain a complex mixture of compounds which have important and beneficial roles in the human body.
The Nutri Therapy line includes a range of products for not only for women, but for men, babies and kids. Thursday’s occasion included a display of all the products, as well as a display of products in the Safeway Healthy Choice range.
