Easy chic this Easter
Easter is the first real holiday since Christmas, and traditionally a time to do the weekend get away. My girlfriends tell me that it’s also a great time to get to know the new man in your life. Easter also spells carnival with emphasis on the body.
That’s right the body. For unlike Christmas, where emphasis is on dressing up and the cool Christmas chill gives validity to shawls, Easter is much hotter, and weekend retreats lend more to form fitting dresses, body hugging tops, and those cute dresses showing long, well-toned legs. Shall we add the bikini or maillot?
Before you decide to cancel Easter take a deep breath and allow us to dress you for your Easter weekend chill.
If Easter is about family but you want to be able to dress up and do dinner, make reservations for Beaches Negril where elegance is not forsaken for family. Pebbles and FDR resorts are less formal. The older family, and the executive looking for an upscale resort will definitely think Ritz Carlton Rosehall.The spa, the golf course, the many restaurants and of course it certainly will not hurt your image to be seen profiling with the ritzy Ritz set. Chunky designer jewellery will tell the rest of the Ritz traveller that you are one of them as will Prada and Gucci sandals and sunglasses. You’ll also need a large white sac with matching sandals for the beach.
Beaches Negril calls for casual during the day. Forget rollers and napkins of food. Think instead of taking the children to breakfast in an elegant setting. Elegant wraps are in, and so are mothers with watchable bodies. Children, bathe and dress for dinner.
Braco will make you want to relax in style and dress for dinner. Pack comfortable shoes and shorts for those bicycle rides through the property.
Roundhill. If in doubt take a look at managing director Josef Forstmayr. Designer labels will get you that nod of approval from the cognoscenti. Long, cool elegant dresses and wraps will put you in good stead.
A trip to Bunty’s wellness centre prepares you for dinner where a few good pieces of the family heirloom is allowed.
Whispering Cove Saint Thomas. Think elegant Jamaican home and pack easy, casuals. Comfy shoes or barefoot for those garden treks and beach walks. Midnight is great for the beach so pack a long black dress.
Grand Lido Negril. The formidable entrance sets the tone and you’ll enjoy the elegance of it all. Pack clothes that make you look great at all times with as little effort as possible.
